Welcome to the Personal Page of Stephen Boyd
Once again this year I am participating in the Jordan Boyd Celebrity Hockey Challenge. As you know, we lost Jordan very suddenly in 2013 as a result of an undiagnosed heart condition called Arythmogenic Right Ventricle Cardio Myopathy (ARVC).
Since that time, we have been trying to understand how this could happen to Jordan - 16 years old and in top physical condition. My family and I have become committed to telling Jordan's story and raising awareness of inherited heart disease and early detection, so that others may hopefully be spared this tragedy.
Through the hard work and generosity of many, the Jordan Boyd Celebrity Hockey Challenge was created to celebrate the life of Jordan and his love of the game while at the same time amd just as importantly raising funds to further research into inherited diseases and discovering earlier detection methods and treatments. The event takes place at the BMO Centre in Bedford on Saturday, July 29, 2017. It is a day for everyday players and hockey fans alike that will see players who love the game play alongside professional hockey players. All donations will be designated to inherited heart disease research at the QEII's Inherited Heart Disease Clinic in Halifax.
I am asking you to consider supporting my participation in this event with a tax deductible donation that will further the world class research and treatment of inherited heart disease being done right here by Doctors in Halifax. I truly appreciate your support and know that your gift will be used to make a difference.
