Welcome To Cheryl Lord's Ride For Cancer
Hello to all our friends and family, I will be riding in the Ride For Cancer in support of my loving husband Ken, and his fight against cancer. For those of you who may not know, while vacationing in Florida in March our life was turned upside down when Ken had a seizer and was diagnosed with an aggressive Glioblastoma Metastic Grade 4 brain tumour and Renal Cell Carcinoma kidney cancer. He has undergone surgery to remove the largest brain tumour and has completed the first phase of radiation and chemo and is starting phase two of chemo. As you can imagine we were all shocked for this diagnoses, how can he get cancer, he's so healthy, an avid cyclist who lives life to the fullest, he would be the last person you would think would get cancer.
I'm truly amazed by Ken's positivity and his approach to take every day as it comes. His courage, strength and positivity has inspired me to be strong as we face the hardest days of our lives. This strength and positive outlook along with the incredible support we have received from friends and family has inspired me to do what I can to raise awarness and support the fight against cancer.
On Saturday, September 30, I will embark on an unforgettable and picturesque journey from Mahone Bay throughout the South Shore to Halifax riding in solidarity for today’s cancer treatments and tomorrow’s cancer cures.
I am riding to help make an impact on cancer care in our region. In Atlantic Canada, 15,000 individuals are diagnosed with cancer each year. By donating to my fundraising efforts, you are helping to support these patients when they need it most.
Please consider making a donation to my fundraising efforts, any amount is greatly appreciated. Together, we will do something BIGGER for cancer!
Thanks so much for donating to my fundraising efforts!
