Welcome to My Personal Page
Friends, Family and Collegues...thank you again for supporting me with the GUT fundraising initiative.
This year marks the 10th anniversary! This year we are working with the QE2 foundation to provide funding to obtain Brachytherapy to provide non-invasive radiation treatment to Nova Scotians dealing with colon cancer. Let's not forget, we are still raising funds to increase awareness about colon cancer. We own our bodies and we own the conversations with our health care providers...Regardless of your age you have the right to diagnostic tools...Never take no for an answer for a colonoscopy.
In 2017, it was estimated 870 people were diagnosed with Colorectal Cancer in Nova Scotia with 370 deaths. Not all the deaths were new diagnosis, however the deaths in 2017 is equivalent to 42 % of the new diagnosis....WOW!
Help Support Team Hoyt in 2018!
Every day one Nova Scotia dies from a disease that is 90% preventable. That disease is colorectal cancer, and we’re on a mission to prevent and treat this silent killer through funds raised at this year’s GUT.
All donations made are in memory of our family members who lost their battle with colorectal cancer:
Roy Marryatt - January 16, 2009
Clifford Hoyt - February 3, 2013
John Hoyt (Age 49) - February 6, 2016
